The airport, which had insisted an underground station was the best solution, has bowed to pressure after the federal government’s mediator, Neil Scales, sided with the state government.
In total, a record 160 contenders are set to compete across 17 group and 11 individual award categories – the highest number of categories since the awards program’s inception.
Appearing on Sky Sunday Agenda, Mr Shorten said while most NDIS participants were “doing the right thing,” he conceded the “rules have been a bit loose at the margins”.
