Father and son’s raffle prize takes them 4,500 miles to view Transpennine Route Upgrade

A father and son duo of railroad enthusiasts travelled 4,500 miles from Denver to view progress on the route of the Transpennine Route Upgrade.

Rail Minister Lord Peter Hendy has visited Ravensthorpe and Huddersfield to view progress being made with the Transpennine Route Upgrade project.

TRU work will see no trains for 3 weeks from Leeds to Ravensthorpe as of Monday 3 March

For three weeks in March, train services in West Yorkshire will be severely disrupted beacue of work on the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU).

Train services will be disrupted for fans travelling to Leeds for Rugby League’s Magic Weekend.

Successful completion of work after 10-day closure at Huddersfield.

A road in Dewsbury is to be closed for ten weeks from 8 April for work to take place in connection with the Transpennine Route Upgrade.
