Melbourne teenager Bianca Jones has died in hospital after falling victim to a mass methanol poisoning in Laos.
The 19-year-old was travelling with her best friend Holly Bowles when the pair fell desperately ill after consuming cocktails laced with the toxic chemical on Tuesday November 12.
Both girls were rushed to separate hospitals in neighbouring Thailand, where they have been on life support.
Ms Jones’ parents confirmed on Thursday their daughter did not survive the poisoning.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news that our beloved daughter and sister, Bianca Jones, has passed away,” the parents said in a statement to The Herald Sun.
“She was surrounded by love, and we are comforted by the knowledge that her incredible spirit touched so many lives during her time with us.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming support, love, and prayers we’ve received from across Australia.”
Ms Jones is the fourth person to lose their life in the mass methanol poisoning incident.

The Danish government confirmed on Wednesday that two of its citizens, both young women in their 20s had died, while a 28-year-old British woman was confirmed as the third victim on Thursday.
Ms Jones and Ms Bowles travelling in southeast Asia while on university break, having graduated from Mentone Girls’ Grammar and Beaumaris Secondary College last year.
Ms Jones’ family previously described the trip as a “dream getaway” for the girls.
“Our beautiful Bianca was on a dream getaway with her best friend Holly,” the family said on Tuesday.
“They were filled with joy and had such incredible adventures ahead of them, travelling through Asia.”
