On Sunday, December 22nd, a light twin-engine aircraft crashed in Gramada, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The crash of the aircraft, a Piper PA-42 Cheyenne, resulted in the death of the pilot and all nine passengers. It also resulted in at least 17 injuries to people on the ground near the crash. The aircraft was attempting to take off from the small regional airport known as Canela Airport (CEL) before it collided with multiple structures near the airport. The crash resulted in several fires spreading throughout the town, leading to multiple injuries and severe damage across the resort town.
