The BAE Tempest or Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP – pronounced G-CAP) is set to become one of the world’s most advanced fighter jets in the 2030s. As with all manned sixth-generation fighter jets, dark clouds are constantly overhanging the continued financing of the project (for example, the future of the US Air Force’s manned fighter jet, NGAD, is currently hanging in the balance). However, the three countries developing Tempest/GCAP (the United Kingdom, Japan, and Italy) have reaffirmed their commitment to the project , and the project is moving forward.
