ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

CATASTROPHIC FIRE DANGER RATINGS

Due to the Catastrophic fire danger rating passengers are required to defer travel. There will be noalternative services available.

If you are unsure if you live in the Wimmera weather and fire danger area, please visit the CFA website.

Safety is V/Line’s number one priority and as such, no V/Line train, scheduled coach or replacement coach services will operate in a fire district while a Catastrophic fire danger rating declaration is in place for that district. To reduce the risk of passengers and staff being stranded midway through their journey, services which operate through multiple fire districts will not operate for the entire journey if a Catastrophic fire danger rating declaration is in place in any district they are scheduled to pass through.

EXTREME HEAT TIMETABLES

Extreme heat speed restrictions are enforced when temperatures exceed 36 degrees in order to reduce the likelihood of train and track faults, while also keeping passengers safe. When an extreme heat timetable is in place, journey times may be extended by a few minutes as we reduce the speed of our trains.Passengers should check this website prior to travelling to see if their services are affected. A copy of the extreme heat timetable can be downloaded from the V/Line website or passengers can ask for a copy from their nearest staffed station. Passengers are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys.
