Wednesday 28th – Moving on

Hello again , yes it’s more of the same but much progress was made.

1675 …. The battery tray has presented a few challenges, bearing in mind the two halves will be a one off.

Well maybe, you never know what the future holds.

Rex had tac welded the frame together, then I fully welded it. With various clamps etc. it did not distort.

This is one half of the carrier, an exact copy will be made for the other half.

The Upholstery team were nowhere to be found …… they went along two rakes snagging, ready for the big start up on Saturday.

….. they did return to the warmth of the workshop, making more shopping bags and cushions.

With feverish activity in 1675, Colin is making more mouldings ….. will we ever finish?

I have mentioned before, we leave the new outer skin as untouched as possible. Steve is here trimming the bottom edge to the correct height . All welding is now done on the south end, just a few captive fixings to be placed and the corridor connector will go back on.

Chris painting inside the south vestibule anything which isn’t painted ….. I am told there is a repair to do to the roof above the water tank, more of that next week.

Steve then moved to the north end and started fitting the door, its on and now for trimming surrounding outer skin.

Not just vehicle work, there is always something to do in C&W…… the beginnings of a new trolley for the TIG welder.

Most of it is being made from odd bits and off cuts, The woodwork team will be making a shelf for the top to carry all of the odds and ends.
Another busy day …… Gerry forgot his phone, so he used mine to do some of these pics, the rest came from other phones.
See you next week.
