Although John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) handle the most amount of passengers in the New York area, LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is not to be forgotten. Situated about 10 miles from Manhattan, the airport has provided a different, perhaps less stressful alternative to the hustle and bustle that thousands of travelers experience daily at the two other airports. However, with a smaller airport comes a smaller route network – meaning LGA’s destinations are limited compared to its counterparts. Nonetheless, throughout the airport’s 80-year history, some travelers have considered LGA as their preferred airport.
