The F-16 Fighting Falcon (or as her Stateside crews prefer to call her, the “Viper”) is *the* world’s most common fixed-wing aircraft in military service. With 26 users (at last count) around the world, it’s not much of an exaggeration to say that she’s the Western equivalent of the old Soviet-designed Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 “Fishbed” (AKA “Balalaika” AKA “Bison”) in terms of sheer ubiquity.
