Having ran to Sea Lake back on Thursday the 26th of July as BL34, XR551 and XR554 but only going as far as Korong Vale that morning due to BL34 having problems and the Ultima giving it a push into the Loop in the early hours of the morning.
The train was sat there for a further 15 hours with fitters seen fixing BL34 and XR554 before leaving for Korong Vale late in the afternoon and arriving into Sea Lake later that night.
2 Days later Pacific National ran a light loco transfer from North Geelong to Sea Lake with BL29, G531 and G522 to rescue the now 3 failed locos with XR554 completely shutdown due to major flywheel damage having only come back into service 11 days ago.
The other 2 locos XR551 and BL34 were in start mode idling away for the entire trip back to North Geelong.
We now see the full 6 unit combo of G522, G531, BL29, XR554, XR551 and BL34 rolling into Maryborough with 9146 for a crew change on the evening of the 28th of July 2024.
