North East Link continues to create long lasting environmental scars

The North East Link is an under construction 10–kilometre tolled highway scheme in Melbourne, Australia. It will connect the Metropolitan Ring Road at Greensborough with the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen, which will be upgraded from Hoddle Street to Springvale Road at Nunawading.

Already significantly over budget and having destroyed 1000’s of trees in the process including parks, sporting ovals and street scapes, the true damage from the project is now becoming clearer. 1000’s of tress on the Eastern Freeway are now up for the chop damaging the aesthetics of the area and removing space between the freeway and surrounding housing.

Victoria never wanted this project but the CFMEU did and has flags flying across the entire project.
