The community can now see how their feedback has helped shape the detailed designs for the Moss Vale Station and Stabling Yard accessibility upgrades, with the determination report published.

A Transport for NSW spokesperson said the report outlines how the feedback was used during the design process for upgrades aimed at improving access, safety and amenity at the station and improve the stabling capacity of the yard.

“The project aims to make public transport safer and more accessible for all, especially people with disabilities, the elderly, people with prams or luggage and passengers using mobility aids,” the spokesperson said.

“Community feedback was invaluable in shaping final design of the project, with the scope of work expanded in response to include an additional ‘kiss and ride’ zone next to Jubilee Park on Argyle Street.

“Feedback from local residents throughout the consultation period also showed strong support for the installation of a noise barrier on Lackey Road, which has now been incorporated into the final design.

“The project has a focus on sustainability, with six parking spaces being converted into electric vehicle charging spaces in the northern commuter car park.

“We want to thank the community for their feedback during consultation and for their ongoing patience as we progress these important upgrades, acknowledging the vital role of this station to those who live, work and visit Moss Vale.”

Construction is expected to start onsite mid-2024.

The upgrades to Moss Vale Station and Stabling Yard include three new lifts and accessibility upgrades around the station precinct, as well as improvements to the train stabling area to accommodate the new regional intercity trains.

The upgrades have been designed to achieve Disability Standards for Accessible Transport 2002 (DSAPT) and Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) compliance.

The determination report for the Moss Vale Station and Stabling Yard upgrade has been published online.

Transport for NSW will keep the community updated as the project progresses.

Feedback received during the joint drop-in session in December 2023 for the separate Argyle Street traffic and pedestrian improvements project is being reviewed and a consultation summary report will be published when complete.
