A man is assisting police with their inquiries after a woman was found dead in an apparent lawn mower incident in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a property in Upper Lockyer, west of Brisbane.
The woman, reported to be 49-year-old psychologist Frances Crawford, was found with critical injuries at the Thomas Road property on July 30 after what appeared to be an incident involving a lawn mower.
Her husband called emergency services at 3.40am but the woman had died of her injuries before first responders arrived at the scene.
Detective Superintendent George Marchesini today said police had not been able to establish the exact circumstances of the woman’s death.
“We need to better understand the circumstances as to how this has happened,” Marchesini said.
“The male person that was at the house had discovered the woman around that time (3.40am) and that’s how police were called.”
Marchesini said police had previously attended the property in July 2023 but there were no domestic violence orders in place.
“Our hearts do go out to the family, in particular the woman’s three children as well as the community, her workplace and also the first responders,” Marchesini said.
He said police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the investigation.
Crawford worked as a psychologist for Quality Life Psychology Services in Toowoomba.
In a statement to media the clinic said she was a “skilled psychologist and valued and respected team member” who was “highly regarded by her clients and colleagues”.
