Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says there is no doubt there was considerable hurt from the voice referendum!

During the Garma Festival Anthony Albanese said:

“There is no doubt there was considerable hurt from the way the campaign from the Voice referendum was conducted that that Indigenous peoples will take time to heal from that.”

“It was about putting Indigenous recognition in the Constitution in the form which was asked for through the First Nations constitutional convention in 2017 at Uluru. After a process that was begun by Tony Abbott and which people participated in. Now, that wasn’t successful. So what we can’t give up on moving Australia forward.”

What is important is that we walk together. And one of the things that is a theme of this is renewal, and is a theme of walking together, recognising that this isn’t just an issue from my perspective, about Indigenous Australians. It is about Closing the Gap for them, but in my view, has always been that Australia, as a nation, will benefit from being more united, from being more reconciled with our history. And that that is important for all of us, but it’s also important for how Australia is seen in the region and the world.”

Anthony Albanese did the opposite he divided the country on race.

  1. BS – it failed because

    1. Albo LIED saying that the Referendum had nothing to do with truth telling , treaty and reparations . That provable lie killed Albo’s credibility
    2. The ATSI activists- Mayo, Langdon, Pearson etc said unequivocally that the voice was the first step/,the first door to truth telling , treaty and reparations. The public was understandably not sure what that actually meant and what the reparations / “pay the rent “ would cost them potentially personally and the nation as a whole
    3. The communist links of Mayo and Langdon .
    4. The inability for the Yes campaign to explain why a constitutional voice was necessary to listen and come up with practical solutions that could not be done NOW.

So the YES campaign was a disaster, that’s why it went down. Again people like you assume the public are stupid and can be easily manipulated by media etc and not see the above points for themselves !

  2. As a white taxpayer I was considerably hurt by $450m dollars.
I was hurt by being called a racist.
I was hurt but our govt racists seeking to prefer one people by the feature of their birth to become hereditary royalty in the constitution over me.

    This reverse racism is racism.

  3. So the aboriginals being recognized as a separate identity &ultimately a separate sovereignty ,that will unite us?With logic like that the country is fast becoming a land of tribes/ Not just aboriginal but also the rise in middle eastern fundamentalists raising their ugly heads.

  4. albanese once again with great incompetence and a mind boggling lack of judgment manages to revisit a disaster that distracts from the cost of living crises again. Do people really want to keep revisiting this disaster over and over again? This guy’s a loser.
