The F-22 Raptor is an advanced and highly capable fifth-generation US fighter jet. With costly production and operation and a military environment that moved away from air-to-air combat, it saw lower production than anticipated and limited service. Unlike the fighter jets that came before it, it has never had a ‘kill’ in active combat – although it has recently been involved in balloon shooting over US territory.
