Donnybrook level crossing accident V/Line services affected

A V/Line train has collided early today with a vehicle left on the railway tracks in Donnybrook. The V/Line service 8605 Albury service from Southern Cross. The accident closed both the Standard Gauge and Broad Gauge lines at the location and caused the morning departure of the XPT to Sydney to be delayed.

The Melbourne bound morning Albury V/Line service was terminated at Seymour.

V/Line are still recovering from the incident.

The 12:51 Albury – Southern Cross service will run with a reduced capacity of 3 VLocity carriages due to an incident requiring emergency services. Passengers can also board a replacement coach from Albury-Southern Cross to complete your journey.

    I can confirm this incident occurred this morning. Due to vandalism on the ARTC line the train was running as an empty service to form the next service back to Southern Cross after the vandalism had been repaired.

    2. Yes sorry to hear that as I was there near platform 1 watching the SG Vol was departing as empty cars in the morning, the SG vols……you had a bad day on that line…..all passengers had to go to platform 8 that Morning…..
