Charlie Curnow could miss the remainder of the 2024 season through injury

Carlton’s horrific month went from bad to worse on Sunday afternoon, with Charlie Curnow hobbling from the ground with an ankle injury.

The star key forward has clearly carried the injury for multiple weeks, but exacerbated it in the loss to Hawthorn.

Channel Nine journalist and SEN regular Tom Morris reports that Curnow is doubtful to return for the final fortnight of the home and away season.

“It was a disastrous day for Carlton. They already had 12 players on their injury list and now they have 17,” Morris told SEN Breakfast.

“It comes at exactly the time of the year where you’d want to be going the other way.

“Charlie Curnow is the most serious. There are grave concerns that he won’t be able to get back this home and away season and potentially even into finals if they make it with that ankle.

“It’s the same ankle that he was struggling with last week.

“Michael Voss said that he did what he needed to do during the week, he ran on Friday and then hurt himself again yesterday.

“We’ll await scans to see just how serious it is.”

Carlton also lost Adam Saad and Jack Martin to hamstring injuries, Lachie Fogarty to a shoulder and Jordan Boyd to a cork.

  1. Big blow to the Blues could be the end for 2024. Disappointing last few weeks by the club but they are not the only ones. Blues, Essendon and Collingwood all in the top 4 at round 15 and now all out of the top 8.

    That is football.
