Last year, the winds of change started to blow through Australia's domestic aviation sector, which has struggled for decades to throw off its archaic two-airline mentality that often gave only the two powerful incumbents a voice at the top table. As we start 2024, Australia has five domestic airlines that are bringing more competition to the market, and after enduring record-high airfares, ticket prices are now dropping due to that competition.
