SSR have taken delivery of new broad gauge grain wagons for use in Victoria.
They’re the first new broad gauge grain handling rolling stock bought in over 16 years, the 22 new Chinese built hoppers have spurred increased train lengths now beyond 40 cars.
SSR continue to invest in rail across the state. It would be nice to see the wagons put to use delivering grain into the silos at Bridgewater Mill only a short run from their base at Bendigo North.
The amount of grain being received at sites across the state has been increasing over the years. We need to ensure rail access is available at the locations as Victrack and V/Line have closed a lot of access to the network like Dookie and other lines.
