Karen Yung is hoping the recent Covid lockdowns will lead to a change of attitude towards walking and catching buses. The 33-year-old Lower Hutt resident is an advocate for walking and public transport, and she would like to see more people follow her lead.
Lockdowns and the trend for people to work from home, led to an enhanced feeling of community, which Yung enjoyed.
That has been displayed by people shopping locally, getting to know their neighbours and using their car less. It is that sense of community that Yung finds most satisfying about catching buses and walking.
