Carlton’s season ended with a 28-point loss to Brisbane. (Warning some course language)
CARLTON’S 2024 story came to an end with a 28-point defeat to Brisbane. The Blues had no answers early, trailing the Lions by 10 goals in the second quarter before two attempts at a second-half comeback fell short in the 14.15 (99) to 11.5 (71) defeat.
Carlton supporters right now are very angry and upset and why would they not be? Terrible start to the game, poor choice for who was on ground in the first half of the game.
10 goals behind in the second quarter. A lot of very unhappy people out there but is the abuse warranted?
Many bad coaching decisions before and during the game meant Carlton were not competitive for near half the game. Many questions need answers overall a very poor selection panel and very poor selections. Why not run some of the younger guns.
Delist:
1. Jack Martin
2. Jessie Motlop
3. C. Durdin
4. Fanta
Lord has looked great and should have been rewarded with a spot in the team.
Moir has worked hard and deserves a full game. Cincotta plays every game as hard as he can and is a fantastic team player.
Voss and the selectors made the wrong call, resulting in another wasted year. TDK as SUB just made him look stupid
I think it says all that needs to be said when you see they rushed to sign Durdin (who hasn’t done a bloody thing this year) but they won’t even put a contract in front of Owies.
Fantasia is a waste of space, you can’t tell me Moir wouldn’t have done more. I agree with the first comment, once I saw the team I knew we were done and then when I heard De Koning was thew sub I almost didn’t watch the game at all.
There was clearly no point but as a 71 year Carlton supporter I went through the motions and sat through the pathetic first half.
Some serious changes need to be made. Maybe we can get Mitchell from Hawthorn or Scott from Geelong.
Ain’t no innovation at Carlton just more of the same. And when things aren’t working – more of the same.
Carlton is a top 3 side! I’m absolutely convinced. There were a couple of brain fades throughout the match but Carlton are a way better side than Brisbane are! Like 10 goals + better side! A few decisions went against us and the ball sat nicely for Brisbane on a few occasions. Yes, luck plays a part! The point is we didn’t deserve to win going an hour without scoring but the second point is that I still thought we were a good chance to win at halftime! I know it doesn’t make sense but there you have it. My only question was TDK subbed however I’m not part of selection panel who must of had their reasons. Think we missed a Charlie spark. Carlton needs to rebuild immediately looking forward to next year and with all the youth coming through I wouldn’t make any changes. None!
