A light rail tram and a truck have collided in the Sydney CBD, triggering major traffic delays.
Pitt Street in Haymarket has been closed in both directions at High Street, with very heavy northbound traffic backing up.
Images showed the tram had been at least partly derailed. Around 60 passengers onboard have been safely evacuated and no major injuries have been reported.
Light rail services are closed between Convention and Central, but continue to run from Dulwich Hill to Convention.
Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time, catch a route 501 bus, or walk instead.
