There will be a number of temporary partial closures on the Outer Harbor line over the next month to safely allow construction works to continue on the Ethelton Railway Station Upgrade Project.
The line will be partially closed from 7pm to the last service each night from Sunday, 29 September to Thursday, 3 October and again over the October long weekend starting from first service Saturday, 5 October to last service Monday, 7 October.
During the temporary closures services will not operate between Woodville Railway Station and Outer Harbor Railway Station. Port Dock services will also not be available between Adelaide Railway Station and Port Dock Railway Station during the night closures.
Substitute buses will operate during the temporary closures, servicing all stops between Woodville, Port Dock and Outer Harbor Railway stations.
Grange line services will not be impacted with trains still running as usual between Adelaide Railway Station and Grange Railway Station. Port Dock services will be available over the October long weekend.
The closure will allow crews to continue construction works on the Ethelton Railway Station Upgrade Project which cannot be undertaken safely with trains operating in the rail corridor.
The $9.9 million upgrade will include new platforms that will be more accessible, improving passenger safety and experience.
The project is supporting 20 full time equivalent jobs over the construction period and is scheduled to be completed by late October.
These works have been scheduled to take place at night and over the long weekend to minimise impacts on commuters.
Trains will resume as normal from first service on Tuesday, 8 October 2024.
