A teenager accused of raping female jogger released on bail

A teen accused of ambushing a female jogger, throwing her to the ground and raping her in a random attack in Melbourne’s north has been released back into the community.

The 16-year-old allegedly ambushed the jogger from behind before throwing her to the ground and sexually assaulting her.

It’s alleged he ambushed a woman from behind on August 14 while she was running along a walking path at Jacana.

He allegedly threw the jogger to the ground and sexually assaulted her before she was able to escape and seek help from two passers-by.

  1. This doesn’t even meet to pub test. It sends the wrong message to everyone. Rape is a very serious offense clearly the Magistrate doesn’t understand this they just let the offender off as if it was “ shoplifting”.
    What a disgrace our system is in Victoria.
