A report by Italys Corriere della Sera today has revealed that 
British Airways and Air France are interested in securing some of ITA Airways and Lufthansas slots at Milan Linate Airport to facilitate additional US and Canada connections. In July, Lufthansas 41% stake in ITA Airways was approved by the European Commission. As part of this agreement which foresees a full takeover of the Italian national airline further down the line the carriers also had to agree to several concessions.
