The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has forecasted that $128 billion in capital expenditure annually is required if the aviation industry wants to reach net-zero emissions by the end of 2050. This prediction was released at the recent World Sustainability Symposium in Miami on September 24, where industry leaders gathered to set guidelines for achieving net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050 through new tech and sustainable aviation fuel. The symposium focused predominantly on decarbonization, innovation, policy, and finance in the aviation industry.
