The Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion has been the US Marines heavy lift helicopter with a seven-bladed main rotor, capable of aerial refueling and conducting many missions such as amphibious assault, cargo transport, combat search & rescue, minesweeping and logistical support. With a fundamental capability of 8,000 pounds (3,600 kg) of internal payload or a maximum amount of 13,000 pounds (5,900 kg) on the sling underneath the belly, the CH-53E is the heavy lift transport of choice for the US Marine Corps.
