“WE’VE HIT HIM” … (Daniel Andrews) We call on the relevant authority to launch a fully independent, open-to-the-public investigation into @BikeBoyScandal
Daniel and Catherine Andrews lied—to police, to Victorians, and to the media. These lies are documented in the Andrews’ signed police statements and exposed in the newly released, explosive 000 calls.
At this point, if an investigation isn’t opened, Victorians will lose faith in Victoria Police, IBAC, and the Victorian Labor Government. If police are found to be complicit and therefore corrupt, then so be it––they must be charged and tried in a court of law.
READ THESE EXCERPTS from Daniel Andrews signed Police Statement , 05, Feb 2013 … 29 days after his SUV crashed into 15 year old Ryan Meuleman. Daniel Andrews …“The first I saw of him (Ryan) was when he smashed into the windscreen on the driver’s side.”
➧ Mr Andrews says he did not see Ryan until the young boy had crashed through the windscreen. Remember, the SUV is still moving after the impact. Daniel Andrews …“The cyclist was travelling at speed and hit our car at a perfect right angle very heavily. I want to make it clear – the cyclist hit our vehicle.”
➧ But how could Mr. Andrews recall such fine detail when he told police his first sight of Ryan was when the boy came crashing through the windscreen? Daniel Andrews …” I want to make it clear – the cyclist hit our vehicle.”
➧ That statement was made 29 days after the crash, however on the day of the crash, in fact, approximately 8 minutes after impact and with his memory in-the-moment, Daniel Andrews told the 000 operator “… and WE’VE HIT HIM.” He didn’t say “he hit us.” He said “… and WE’VE HIT HIM.”
In their joint rebuttal of the 000 call, the Andrews simply repeated their 2017 denial. Notably, Mr. Andrews avoided addressing the 000 call itself—the issue at hand—or confirming or denying whether he said, “…and we’ve hit him.”
Then this …. Photos of Mr. Andrews’ damaged SUV clearly show the impact at the front, contradicting his claim that the cyclist T-boned his vehicle—a finding noted in crash expert Dr. Raymond Shuey’s recent report.
Dr Shuey’s report further suggests it’s plausible that Daniel Andrews, not his wife Catherine, was behind the wheel when the SUV struck Ryan Meuleman, nearly killing him.
In Daniel Andrews’ own words, “Let me be clear.” If you or I had made a false statement to police, kept that lie going for 11 years, blamed the victim, and then became Premier of Victoria—if we were in any party but Labor—do you think we’d have faced court and been sentenced to a lengthly prison sentence by now?
The time has come for Daniel and Catherine Andrews to answer to the law, and for Ryan Meuleman to get Justice.
