During the financial year from April 2022 to March 2023, South African Airways (SAA), together with its subsidiaries, attained a net profit of $15.5 million (R252 million), its first positive bottom line since 2012. This was achieved with a fleet of six to eight aircraft, significantly less than its 40+ aircraft fleet in 2012.
