There will be full line closures on the Outer Harbor, Port Dock and Grange rail lines from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 December 2024.

This closure will allow for the continuation of upgrades to the Jane Street, West Croydon pedestrian crossing.

The current Jane Street, West Croydon pedestrian crossing closed from November  and is expected to open December 2024 due to upgrades to improve pedestrian access and safety.

The upgrade will include:

  • Demolition of the existing pedestrian crossing.
  • Installation of a new Active Pedestrian Crossing.
  • Accessible ramps for safe crossing of the railway line.
  • New emergency help phones.
  • Improved Public Announcement speaker.
  • CCTV installed on new light poles and in the underpass.

An Active Pedestrian Crossing has been installed which will automatically close the pedestrian gates when a train is approaching the crossing. Alarms and signals will also let pedestrians know it is unsafe to cross.

During the line closures, substitute buses will operate and replace all train services, travelling in both directions, between Adelaide Railway Station and:

  • Outer Harbor Railway Station
  • Port Dock Railway Station
  • Grange Railway Station.

When:

  • First service Saturday 14 December to last service Sunday 15 December 2024.
  • Full line services will resume from first service Monday 16 December 2024.
