Harrison Ford is one of the most popular actors of the last decade and is widely regarded as a cinematic cultural icon. Ford was born in 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, and he began acting in the early 1960s. He spent the majority of the 1960s playing smaller roles in both movies and television shows. However, Ford eventually found a breakthrough in supporting roles in the early 1970s by acting in both American Graffiti and The Conversation.
