The Gulf carrier will end its daily flights from Melbourne to Singapore on 30 March next year, with flight number EK404/405 – to be reassigned to a 777-300ER service, which will operate non-stop to Dubai instead of travelling via Singapore.

This is such a shame as this service leaving Singapore in the morning around 10am and landing into Melbourne in the early evening is a fantastic service I have used many times. The alternative for qantas members is an overnight flight from Singapore to Melbourne 2 per evening which I don’t like but have done many times.
I guess it will be be more singapore airlines to Melbourne which carry many more passengers per annum into Melbourne from Singapore than does Qantas.
