Bell Helicopter is one of the largest producers of both military and commercial helicopters in the world. The company, which is owned by Textron Corporation, the owner of Textron Aviation and Cessna and Beechcraft brands of aircraft, was founded as Bell Aircraft Corporation in July 1935. Lawrence Dale Bell founded the company in Buffalo, New York, to focus on the production of fighter aircraft.
