Michael Jordan is often considered to be the best basketball player of all time. The famous basketball player was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 17, 1963. However, he spent most of his youth in Wilmington, North Carolina. This led to him being recruited heavily by the University of North Carolina Tarheels, leading him to join the team in 1981. As a Tarheel, Jordan was an All-American First Team in both 1983 and 1984, and led the team to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship in 1981.
