Tragic incident occurred, resulting in the death of twenty-two-year-old Pavel Miah. The accident took place on the railway line connecting Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chattogram, when the young man fell under a freight train heading towards Sreemangal.
According to witnesses and information from the station master of Shaistaganj Junction, Gaura Prasad Dash, Pavel Miah and another individual were traveling on one of the freight train’s carriages. Both decided to jump off the train, but Pavel lost his balance while jumping and fell under the moving train.
The consequences were immediately fatal.
Pavel Miah was from the village of Biramchar in the Shaistaganj municipality and was the son of Abdul Mannan. After the incident, the railway police arrived at the scene, secured his body, and began investigating the circumstances of the accident.
This tragic event serves as a warning about the dangers of traveling outside official train spaces. Accidents of this type are unfortunately not uncommon in Bangladesh, especially in areas where people take risks and use freight trains for transportation. This situation highlights the need for better awareness and prevention regarding railway safety.
