Drugs of various descriptions are routinely seized at airports across the United States. Now Charlotte Douglas International Airport has seized another 70 pounds adding to the over 2,300 pounds of drugs seized at that airport through most of 2024. Sometimes investigations into the seized drugs lead back to the cartels of Mexico. Smuggling drugs through airports is a global issue, in June 2024, it was reported that authorities in Belgium’s Brussels Airport had seized a whopping 400 kilos or 881 pounds of cocaine after passengers from two different flights arrived from the Caribbean.
