Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) opened in 1974 and is named after France’s former president. Last year, the facility processed more than 67 million passengers, making it the third-busiest airport in Europe and the ninth-busiest airport in the world by passenger numbers. However, this is still far behind the airport’s pre-pandemic peak of 76 million passengers in 2019.
