Jeju Air Crash: US Engine Maker GE Aerospace Joins Investigation

GE Aerospace has joined the investigation into Jeju Air flight 7C2216, which crashed on Sunday after performing an emergency belly landing, killing 179 of the aircraft’s 181 occupants. Along with French firm Safran, GE Aerospace is one of the parent companies of joint venture CFM International, which manufactures the Boeing 737-800’s CFM56 engines.
