GE Aerospace To Become An Independent Company

Multinational engineering, manufacturing, and power conglomerate General Electric announced today that it has received board approval to separate its energy arm to leave the Aerospace division to become its own independent company by the start of April, according to a release. The aerospace engineering division of the US-based firm is responsible for building popular engine types that currently power aircraft like the 747-8, 777-300ER, and 787, among other types.
