The Transall C-160 is a military transport aircraft designed and developed by Transporter Allianz, a consortium between MBB, Aerospatiale, and VFW-Fokker. The aircraft was developed to meet the military transport demands of the French and German Air Forces, particularly to replace the piston-engine Nord Noratlas transport aircraft.
