The De Havilland Canada DHC-515 is an amphibious twin-engined aircraft originally manufactured by Canadair and then by Bombardier, and now by De Havilland Canada. It is primarily a water bomber used for firefighting and forest fires. It scoops water from lakes and the sea, to drop on fires. The idea for the DHC-515 started when the CL-415 ‘Superscooper’ program was acquired by Viking Air in October 2016. They aimed to design and produce the new DHC-515 in Victoria, BC and Calgary, Alberta.
