The McDonnell Douglas DC-10 is one of the most well-known and loved trijet wide-body aircraft, but now it has all but disappeared from the skies. The DC-10 is sometimes compared with its similar contemporary Lockheed L-1011 TriStar counterpart and is iconic of the 1970s. 2024 saw more disappear as the United States KC-10 Extenders finally retired and placed in storage at the boneyard. However, in 2025, firefighting DC-10s made a prominent comeback as they flew hair-raising missions to douse the Californian Palisades fires. So where are the DC-10s still flying today?
