Back in 2024, United Airlines made waves by announcing what many have referred to as one of the most ambitious international flight network expansions in modern history. Not only has the carrier decided to add nonstop flights to more than a dozen destinations, but it has also chosen extremely unique cities, ones that have historically experienced low levels of passenger demand. A few of the destinations on this list are historically low-demand international destinations in East Asia, ones that have never been served by nonstop flights from a US carrier before.
