The Hawker Typhoon, an aircraft developed from the famous Hawker Hurricane, was a mainstay of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. While originally designed as a medium-altitude interceptor, the Typhoon eventually found a niche as a low-altitude fighter, able to repel low-altitude invading aircraft.
