Cargoairlines operate very differently than commercial airlines, with them generating revenues from transporting cargo as opposed to paying passengers. As a result of these different operating models, cargo airlines have significantly different cost structures, ones which demand a different level of investment when it comes to new aircraft. While most commercial airlines will opt for the newest aircraft on the market (with the notable exception of some US carriers that keep 35-year-old jets running), cargo airlines tend to have no issue keeping older aircraft in service.
