Metro Trains carriage damaged as battery fire rages onboard

A metro trains melbourne service between Boxhill and Camberwell caught fire this week due tio a e-bike battery errupting in flame onboard the carriage.

The train stopped at the nearest station disruption services between Camberwell and Box Hill. No one was injured however the metro trains carriage was damaged and was taken out of service.

Anything over 100Wh in battery capacity should be banned from all modes of public transportation.

E-bikes and scooters have no regulations in place, as more counterfeit and dangerous products come to the market. There needs to be some accountability in place.
