Issues with the hydraulic system on a United Airlines flight between San Francisco and Mexico City resulted in an Airbus A320-200 diverting to Los Angeles this week. On Friday, March 8th, UA821 departed from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) at 13:22, for an expected arrival at Mexico's capital by 19:35. However, as it was passing over the Mexican state of Sonora, a decision by the pilot was made to return to the United States. With 105 passengers and five crew onboard, the aircraft rerouted and landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) at 18:24.
