Passenger Boeing 747 ‘jumbo jets’ are a dying breed. While hundreds of units of the mighty jumbo live on as freighters, only three airlines currently use Boeing 747s as passenger aircraft. Simple Flying reported in 2024 that Air China had cut its 747 flight to Los Angeles, meaning that only two remaining airlines are scheduled to fly their passenger 747s to Los Angeles International Airport in March: Korean Air and Lufthansa.
