These 17 terminal and rolling stock projects won Polish funding

Recently, Poland announced major funding for rail equivalent to 43 billion euros. Approximately 2,3 billion is going to come from the National Reconstruction Plan. Now, the country is allocating around 180 million euros of that fund to 17 intermodal and rolling stock projects.
There were a total of 60 applicant projects, out of which Poland selected 17 lucky projects that will receive funding. Twelve of those are terminal infrastructure projects and five concern rolling stock and handling equipment. The current round of funding covers a maximum of 50 per cent of the total cost of the project.

Demand for financing greatly surpassed the amount of money available. The total funding sum amounted to 180 million euros, but companies filed applications for more than 630 million.

Some major applications were rejected entirely. These include two applications of around 30 million euros by CLIP Intermodal for the purchase of multi-system locomotives and wagons for trailer transport as well as container wagons and semitrailer wagons. An application by POZ BRUK for funding for semitrailers of around 20 million euros was not considered.
