Over 1,000 Daily Flights: The World’s Busiest Airport For Regional Jets

Chicago O’Hare has more regional jet flights than any of the other 1,100+ airports globally that see the equipment group. This is because both American Airlines and United Airlines have a substantial hub there. On a typical day between April and September 2025, Cirium Diio data shows O’Hare will have 1,068 RJ movements (takeoffs/landings combined). The Illinois airport will have one in 10 of the world’s RJ services, a phenomenally high proportion. It is critical to O’Hare’s network breadth and high frequencies, driving connectivity for their respective carriers.
